KIDS' DAY
IN THE PARK
EVENT
CANCELLED FOR 2010.....BACK IN 2011!!
BIG
SPRING MEMORIAL PARK (Athens Duck Pond)
Kids are invited to come to the
park to enjoy a morning of fun and activities. Celebrate
spring with your children and grandchildren! There will be
music, face painting, clay art, food and refreshments, and other
vendors.
Special Events:
- Do Da
Parade 9:45 a.m. Lineup and judging
at 9:30 a.m. at the Courthouse Square (near Limestone Drug). Dress up your kids and their bikes, trikes,
wagons, and motorized vehicles in Dogwood/Spring decorations. Parade
will proceed from the Square to Big Spring Memorial Park end at the
main stage to begin the days festivities. Cash prizes will be awarded in three
categories: Bikes/Trikes, Wagons, and Kids' Motorized
Vehicles.
- Fishing Rodeo
Kids ages 6 to 12 will be permitted to fish
in the spring at the park. $5 Fee charged to fish.
Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. and the rodeo is from 11:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Prizes will be awarded with a special
prize for catching the albino fish. Kids may keep all
fish caught! Children must bring all fishing equipment
and bait and be accompanied by an adult. Don't forget chairs and sunscreen!
- Dog Show
Kids may bring their dogs to compete for ribbons in several
categories. So bring your pooch, big or small, young or
old, cute or....well maybe a face that only an owner could
love. Come and have fun and show off you pets. All
dogs must be on a leash and kept under safe control.
Best of Show ribbon will be awarded!
